Seam Slippage - The Correct Mounting of 2-part Specimens

UNSEAMED SPECIMEN
- Ensure the 25 mm x 25 mm Jaw Faces are fitted to both top and bottom grips.
- Align the 38 mm mark with the edge of the top 25 mm x 25 mm Jaw Faces.
- Close the top grip.
- To permit the specimen to be slack mounted it must not be in contact with the body of the Grip. It should be suspended and hanging under its own weight only.
- DO NOT pull the specimen or pretension it in any way.
- Close the bottom grip.
UNSEAMED (SEWN) SPECIMEN
- Align the 38 mm mark with the edge of the top 25 mm x 25 mm Jaw Faces.
- Close the top grip.
- To permit the specimen to be slack mounted it must not be in contact with the body of the Grip. It should be suspended and hanging under its own weight only.
- DO NOT pull the specimen or pretension it in any way.
- Close the bottom grip.
