      On Impulse, why is there a delay between starting the test and the air flow starting?

      Impulse is designed so that the impeller begins to turn and the specimens begin to tumble just before the air flow comes on. There is an interval of approx. 2 seconds.

      Extensive laboratory testing has proved that having a delay on the air flow means that:

      • Specimens are much less likely to become stuck to the impeller or the chamber walls
      • The cotton sliver - added to aid and enhance the appearance of pills therefore making assessment easier - is much less likely to become trapped in the filter at the back of the chamber.
      Impulse Air Flow

      To turn the air on, toggle the Auto Air switch to the right.
      It will display blue to show that the air on option has been selected.
      The air flow display window will still display OFF.
      Once the air flow activates the window will change to ON.
