How to use our test materials for ISO 105-X11 on ThermaPlate
To prepare the Thermaplate for testing, the same 2 layers are placed onto the base each time (please also refer to the numbered points in the standard):
- 4.3 - On top of the heat resistant sheet, place a piece of woven felt 125 X 90mm (702-447)
- 4.4 - On top of the felt, place a piece of cotton limbric adjacent fabric 125 X 90mm (702-446)
Then:
- 6.2 - Dry pressing (consists of 3 layers) - prepare the 2 base layers, then place your fabric specimen (100 X 40mm) on top. Press for 15 seconds at required temperature.
- 6.3 - Damp pressing – (consists of 4 layers) – prepare the 2 base layers, then place your fabric specimen (100 X 40mm) on top. Use the same cotton fabric (702-446) for the top layer but cut down to size to match the specimen (100 X 40mm). Wet out as in 6.3, then press for 15 seconds at required temperature.
- 6.4 - Wet pressing – (consists of 4 layers) - prepare the 2 base layers. Wet out both your fabric specimen and cotton adjacent fabric (702-446) as in 6.4 (both 100 X 40mm). Place the wet specimen on the base layers, followed by the wet cotton fabric. Press for 15 seconds at required temperature.
